GREENVILLE SC , March 3, 2023- Greenville Hockey is pleased to announce that it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with PEP Hockey and will integrate the Power Edge Pro (PEP) training system into the development program of each team ranging from 8U through 18U. Utilizing patented training and assessment equipment, proprietary video software, and a linear progression model, the PEP training system continues to change the way today's leading hockey players train. As the exclusive license holder in Central and; Upstate South Carolina, Greenville Hockey will be the only youth hockey organization in the area to train and develop its players using this elite system. Our players will also benefit from the incredible experience of monthly special guests Joe and Nick Quinn. Additional benefits include early access to the next generation of Reactive Countering Gear, which will prove to be the most challenging and engaging ice hockey training gear to date, and the PEP Testing and Evaluation System - PEP Hockey's new testing methods designed specifically to identify and develop elite talent. "I am excited to not only partner with Greenville Hockey, but also to have the opportunity to spend some time on the ice with their players as a guest instructor",  commented Joe Quinn, President of PEP Hockey. Joe Quinn is an innovator obsessed with the science of extracting the very best from each individual player. He was previously named in The Hockey News Money and Power Edition as the #1 Hockey Trainer. The PEP system he invented was adopted by NHL superstar Connor McDavid at age 11, and he continues to train on PEP to this day. Joe's training methods and unique teaching breakthroughs in player development are now used by the NHL's Vancouver Canucks, Nashville Predators, Detroit Redwings, Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets as well as numerous CHL and NCAA teams, and the U.S. National Training Development Team.

"Our partnership with PEP Hockey presents a unique and incredible opportunity for Greenville Hockey players and coaches," commented Eric Kenney, Director of Hockey Operations for Greenville Hockey. "Being a student of the game myself and studying the training methods that are out there, there is nothing like PEP. No program offers the curriculum, results, or fun that PEP does. To find a revolutionary training system that not only accelerates player development in a multitude of ways in a single rep, but also keeps the players WANTING to do it, is truly a testament to how cutting edge PEP is."

Greenville Hockey has been in operation for nearly 30 years in the upstate and play out of the newly renovated Pavilion Recreation Complex. Ginnette Romkey, Greenville Hockey’s president stated that “Greenville Hockey is excited by this new community partnership with PEP and what it has to offer all the youth in South Carolina. Our goal has always been to provide a well-rounded hockey experience that is grounded in community, skill development and leadership that is accessible financially to all players. We will be continuing this commitment to our families with the addition of PEP to our programs.”  Greenville Hockey will be hosting many PEP clinics in the upcoming months, with the first one scheduled for April 29 and 30. There will be 2 sessions, ages 10-14u and 16-18u; spots will be limited in each age group. Watch for registration to open on poweredgepro.com!

Message from the President

Greenville Hockey President - Ginnette Romkey

Greenville Hockey is having an amazing 2022-2023 season!

Our commitment to growing the sport of youth hockey in the Upstate area has not gone unnoticed! Our numbers are increasing, and we are having great success in growing relationships with community partners. We continue our efforts to provide affordable fees and options for every level of player through our varied programs and scholarships to families in need.

Our program celebrates the family unit, and we strive to ensure that our players, parents, and siblings feel a part of a hockey community. Our program is a non-profit that has been successful due to our committed volunteers, which includes our player’s giving back to the younger ages.

Greenville Hockey is proud of our successes and that many of our players have moved on to AAA, Junior and Collegiate level play. Greenville Hockey follows USA Hockey’s developmental model. It’s a proven model of player development that has led more players to achieve a higher level of play, including the NHL, then any other and has made Greenville Hockey competitive with the associations that we play throughout South/North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and many more.  Coach Eric Kenney, our Hockey Director, strongly believes in this as a foundation for Greenville Hockey and feels the results he is seeing are beyond impressive. Next season we will be restructuring our travel program and can’t wait to share with everyone!

Hockey has been in the Upstate of South Carolina since 1991 and we are excited by the continued growth we are seeing. I’m excited to see where the rest of the 2022-2023 season takes us! It seems that each year in, Greenville Hockey is better than the last! If you feel called to volunteer, please reach out! There are many things to do within Greenville Hockey; big and small.
