The Greater Greenville Hockey Association organizes, administers, and operates youth ice hockey programs in the Upstate. Greenville Hockey's governing mission is to create "fun sports development for kids" and endeavors to instill in each participant a love; appreciation; and knowledge of the sport, the ideals of fair play and sportsmanship, the development of leadership skills, and commitment to community service.

Greenville Hockey strives, through excellence in coaching, to develop the finest youth players possible. Greenville Hockey seeks to provide a fun environment for players of all ages, levels of skill & commitment, with equal opportunity for all.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere in which players support and respect one another while never compromising the rules of the game. To encourage and expect our players and parents to respect their opponents, coaches, managers, volunteers, and officials. To exhibit good sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and fair play.

Our organization is dependent upon the commitment and dedication of our many volunteers, which are expected to deal with one another with courtesy and mutual respect and make the game of hockey fun for all participants - to ensure that our players not only learn hockey skills but life skills that will help them be model citizens within our community.

Hockey is about community.  It is a Family.

A message from our Hockey Director

Grenville Hockey Director, Eric Kenney

Greenville Hockey aims to provide a safe, fun, and exciting program to offer young hockey players to develop as people and hockey players. Our cost effective model allows families to get the highest echelon of coaching to allow players to continue to pursue the sport of hockey.

Our main curriculum will focus not only personal skill development, but learning and understanding team concepts, systems, and life lessons that will extend well beyond the rink. Our emphasis of fun and hard work will provide newer and experienced players alike a chance to bring their game to the next level. The house program will offer a bridge between learn to skate and our travel/high school programs utilizing USA Hockey’s American Development Model.

House Hockey Structure

House hockey is set up for those who are new to the game, not playing at travel level yet, don't have the time to commit to travel, or just happy with recreational level play.  Ice hockey is not an inexpensive sport, but by removing all the traveling and competition fees, this allows for a more budget friendly program for everyone to enjoy.  All House groups consists of 1 evening weekly practice and 1 Saturday practice/game day a week. "Game Days" are internal scrimmages to help teach team concepts and introduce a game environment.  Our coaches will break the players up into equal skilled teams and have a game rotation on Saturday's.  Our "Game Days" normally start a couple of months into the season once the coaches feel the group is ready, certain skills are established, and knowledge of the rules are understood.

We also try to have a couple opportunities each season to play friendly games against other house level programs in the region.
