● All GGHA House Players recieve a custom Jr Swamp Rabbits jersey to keep. Gameday team jerseys are provided for Saturday gamedays (gameday jerseys remain property of GGHA and must be returned).

Season fee can be paid in monthly installments. All registration and payments completed online at www.GreenvilleHockey.com

The Greater Greenville Hockey Association's Junior Swamp Rabbits 6u/8u House Hockey Program is a recreational hockey league.  All age levels are non-checking. Thursday evening Practices and Saturday Morning Gamedays are held at the Pavilion.

House Season fee is $650 for the entire 20 week season; approximately 45 + hours of ice time.  Amount to be determined closer to season start depending on number of interested players for season.

● All House registered players in good financial standing receive Player ticket to the Season Ending GGHA Banquet (non-transferable). Additional tickets for purchase by family and friends will be available.

● All GGHA players (House, Travel & High School) must have a current USA Hockey Registration on file with the GGHA Registrar. USA Hockey Registration is $51 for 2021-2022. Register online at www.usahockeyregistration.com

● House players receive 2 to 2.5 Hours of on-ice training weekly with USA Hockey Certified coaches. GGHA utilizes the American Development Model for age appropriate hockey training. The ADM is based on age-appropriate, age-specific competition and training forboys and girls, beginning with their first steps onto the ice and carrying them through age 18 and beyond. The ADM places a heightened emphasis on skill development and long-term athlete development principles.

Meet 6u/8u Head Coach Mike Holzman

Playing:  Mike is a native of Brockton and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He grew up playing hockey from the age of 4 through college. He played for Brockton Youth Hockey, Brockton High School Hockey and went on to play a PG year at New Hampton Prep School in New Hampshire. He gained a college hockey scholarship to attend Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, New York. He played 2 years until suffering a significant back injury his sophomore year. As a freshman at RIT, Mike's team won the NCAA DII Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship. The 1983-84 Men’s Ice Hockey Team was inducted into the RIT Hall of Fame in 2018.

Coaching:  Mike began coaching and started his coaching education with USA Hockey in the early 90’s. His coaching experience increased when his son began playing hockey in 2006. He has coached Squirts, Pee Wees, Midgets, and High School Boys and Girls summer leagues. He started a summer skills program for boys and girls, 8th through 12th grade.

Officiating:  Mike began officiating in 2013 for Youth Hockey and Massachusetts High School Hockey. He was a USA Hockey certified official and an official for NIHOA (National Ice Hockey Officials Association). He was chosen to officiate MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) high school boys state championships. Also officiated for New England Prep School Hockey (Best High School Hockey in New England).

Coaching Philosophy:  Mike's philosophy for ice hockey is for players to develop through hard work improving their skills while enjoying and respecting the game. He encourages them to be creative and challenge themselves to get better every time they touch the ice.

Mike has been with GGHA for one year as the Head Coach of the Greenville Varsity High School Hockey Team, leading them to an undefeated season and the SCSHA State Championship.   Mike has recently taken over as the GGHA Hockey Director and is excited to work with the 6u/8u House kids this year.
