Hello Greenville Hockey Families,
I am excited to announce that the youth hockey community in the Upstate is coming together for the 2025-2026 season and beyond. Greenville Hockey, The Carolina Rage, and The Ice Station have agreed to form an alliance to create a unified hockey experience to provide the best opportunities for growth and development for all players wherever they are on their hockey journey. Through this alliance, Greenville Hockey is adding 30+ hours of ice time per week at The Ice Station on top of the time that will continue to be utilized at the Pavilion.
Starting in May 2025, Greenville Hockey will operate all travel teams in the Upstate. Players from both organizations will participate in a combined travel team tryout at each age group (10u-18u) to build teams that will compete at the A and AA level. Weekday and weekend model teams will be created and placed into an appropriate league or play as an independent team based on the skill level and team makeup. To signify this unification of the programs, the travel teams will be named the “Greenville Rage” which will incorporate the logos of both organizations.
Another part of the alliance will include the creation of a Hockey Operations Committee (HOC) which will be tasked with managing hockey specific decisions and direction. The HOC will be made up of a combination of GGHA and Rage directors and/or coaches. This group will be leading Greenville Hockey for head coach selections, team/player selection, league affiliation, tournament selection, player development programs, and hockey programming.
This alliance will impact the House, Girls, and High School programs as well by providing additional ice time to teams that have traditionally been underserved. For example, our House Program will be able to increase the number of players at each age group, and the Girls and Palmetto High School programs will be able to have consistent practice schedules throughout the season. The House teams will continue to use the Jr Swamp Rabbits brand and logo. The Girls teams will take on the Rage name, and the High School teams will keep the Warriors name.
Planning for the 2025-2026 season is already under way and additional details will be shared as soon as they are available. Keep an eye on our website and stay tuned to our social media accounts for all of the updates. I know that many of you reading this letter will have lots of questions, so we have created an anticipated list of FAQs below to provide the answers that we have. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out using this form.
All the Best,
Dave Snider
Greenville Hockey President

This will be decided by the hockey operation committee via an interview process. All current coaches in good standing will be considered candidates for head coaching positions.
